My wife sustained a life altering injury due to an incident involving an automobile in 2008. Since I spent more than a few years as an insurance adjuster in the 1980's, I felt adequately qualified to handle her claim against the insurance company. My feelings of adequacy lasted less than a year when I realized that I would have to sell my business, quit my Church and give up any and all leisure activities if I were to have enough time to effectively handle the claim.
